Sophie Michelle Ellis-Bextor is an English singer, songwriter, and model who rose to fame in the late 1990s, as the lead singer of the indie rock band Theaudience.
Ellis-Bextor was born on 10 April 1979, in Hounslow, London, England to Janet Ellis, a presenter on BBC’s children’s television programs Blue Peter and Jigsaw, and Robin Bextor, a film producer, and director.
Sophie Ellis Bextor introduced an online Kitchen Disco session that became popular for raising people’s spirits during 2020’s lockdown, as she sang under a glitter ball, surrounded by her five children.
The online show has become very successful and as such, she will attempt to dance for 24 hours in a Kitchen Disco Danceathon for this year’s BBC Radio 2 Children in Need Challenge.
Where can I watch Sophie Ellis Bextor’s kitchen disco?
Sophie’s Kitchen Disco Danceathon will be live on the BBC Red Button and BBC iPlayer across 24 hours. The latest news and information from the challenge can be heard on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
