Where Are The Cast Of Fish Town Brixham Now?

Fish Town Brixham cast Pat Seddon has now left the town and sold her pub. However, other cast members continue to live in the fishing town.

It’s hard to believe it has been over a decade since Fish Town first landed on our screens. It is a 10-part observational documentary that focuses on the people around Brixham, the Devon fishing port.

The picturesque Devon town of Brixham is popular for its sailing fraternity. The town attained international attention after being the star of the TV documentary, Fish Town.

The ten-hour-long episodes of the first series feature skippers returning to their yachts in the spring and other people who live and work in the ancient port. Each episode aired at 8 pm on Friday throughout the summer,

Fish Town returned in January 2019, on BBC One, and this time documenting the UK’s biggest fishing port, Peterhead, and the people working on land and sea to put fish on our plates. It aired for six weeks.

Where Are Cast Of Fish Town Brixham Now?

Fish Town Brixham cast have now left the town and moved to other cities while some still continue living there.

Brixham’s most outspoken landlady, Pat, sold her Grade Two-listed former Maritime Inn and moved to her hometown in Rainhill. The new owners transformed the pub into five new luxury suites.

After being sold in early 2018, the pub reopened in June 2021 after two years of renovation. The new owners named the rooms after the trawlers that worked out of Brixham in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Likewise, longtime Brixham resident Robert Simonetti, the founder of Robert’s Fisheries, opened another restaurant Simply Fish. Both his sons, Jean-Pierre and Andre, also joined Robert’s Fisheries.

The fishing port has had a lot of changes over the last few years. All the lovely shops were permanently closed, including Terry Darts and Pops. And although the fish market was made bigger, the business has not improved much.

Pat Seddon Moved Closer To Her Family

Pat Seddon moved to her hometown Rainhill near Liverpool after selling her famous pub, The Maritime Inn. She wished to stay close to her family.

The Brixham landlady rose to fame for being one of the main characters highlighted in Sky’s Fish Town. She was 72 years old when she appeared in the docuseries in 2011.

At first, she didn’t have many customers in her pub, except every other Thursday when the ladies’ darts team gathered there. But once the show aired on Sky TV, the pub started getting visitors worldwide.

After running the pub for 36 years, Pat sold it in 2018. The Maritime Inn is also one of the famous pubs where Prince Harry and some of his friends went as part of a stag weekend in South Devon.

The pub was on the market for £575,000. The landlady packed up her belongings and left the town at the end of February.

She took much of the pub’s unique collection and her dog, George, and parrot, Mr. Tibbs.

She moved to her hometown, Rainhill, to be nearer her family. However, she said she would regularly return to Brixham as her sister still lives in Torquay.

There have been a lot of changes in the port over the past few years.

Seddon said, “Brixham itself is still beautiful, but I liked the old-fashioned walkways for example. They spent all that money doing them and still didn’t do it properly,” she added.

The founder and CEO of Rockfish, Mitch Tonks, appeared in Season 1 Episode 8 (Cooks, Crabs & Clairvoyants) of Fish Town.

In the episode, the chef put on the Crab Festival in the town. He has been living in Brixham, Devon, for nearly two decades and he certainly knows a thing or do about life in the town.

Mitch said, “South Devon is one of the most beautiful counties in the country,” during an interview in 2020. He added, “The biggest fishing port in England is Brixham, my home now for the last 15 years.”

In addition to operating the Rockfish restaurant group, the chef opened the Mitch Tonks Seafood Academy at South Devon College in 2012.

He has authored several seafood cookery books and regularly appears on television.

Tonks was forced to close his nine restaurants during the pandemic as part of a government measure to control the coronavirus.

But he launched a fish stall so that the skipper of the Rockfisher could land his catch and sell it directly to people.

Eager buyers snapped up the catch by registering an interest online, but many accused him of hampering the business of the one-man band local boat Adela BM79.

Last year in 2022, Tonks and Matt Prowse handed The Seahorse to new hands. The pair founded the Dartmouth restaurant in 2008. It has been a regular on the list of the UK’s Top 100 Restaurants.

Fourteen years after founding the restaurant, the duo passed it to a younger team, comprising Mitch’s 32-year-old son Ben, a head chef, Ben’s girlfriend, 28-year-old Brinte Story, and 35-year-old Jake Bridgwood.

According to his Facebook bio, he is from Manchester, United Kingdom, and is currently living in Torquay, a seaside resort town in Devon. The deckhand went to Brixham Community College (2005-2009).
