Where Are Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf Now? Skylar Neese Murder Timeline

Skylar Neese, 16, went missing one night in July 2012 after hanging out with her two best friends, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf. Eddy and Shoaf maintained for months that they had dropped Neese off at her house before midnight that night and that they had no clue where she had gone.

Shelia and Rachel, two of Neese’s high school closest friends, killed her. Shoaf informed investigators on January 3, 2013, that she and Eddy planned and executed Neese’s murder.

On May 1, 2013, Shoaf pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with a 10-year parole eligibility period.

On January 24, 2014, Eddy pled guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of release after fifteen years.

Following Neese’s disappearance, West Virginia passed new legislation that altered the AMBER Notice missing child alert system.
