Where Is James Brokenshire Wife Cathrine Mamelok Now?
James Brokenshire’s wife Cathrine ‘Cathy’ Mamelok is working with the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation now.
She is collaborating with the medical foundation to have improved lung cancer services and get them back on track after they were dealt with by the covid-19 pandemic. At present, she joins forces with other cancer patients’ families and is calling for everyone to submit their thoughts on why a lung cancer screening program is vital to save lives as noted on Facebook.
James and Cathy were together for 30-plus years and parented three children but death tore this family apart. After losing her husband early, Cathrine hoped that she could bring some positivity as a lesson from his death.
About her activities now, she has been campaigning for better cancer services as she does not want other people to end up like her deceased husband and has continued to raise awareness about lung cancer. In fact, she called for a national screening program for the disease to improve poor survival rates in January 2022.
Cathrine could be seen representing the Roy Castle Lung Foundation on TV, and recently she appeared on BBC Breakfast. At times, she also visits the labs at the University of Liverpool, checking the lung cancer research projects.
Is Former MP James Brokenshire Death Cause Linked With Cancer?
James Brokenshire’s death cause is linked to cancer.
He was initially diagnosed with the disease after consuming a small amount of blood in 2017. Later, in April 2018, he underwent surgery to remove a lobe from his right lung, and during his parliamentary debate, he even added to improve lung cancer survival rates.
James was having regular scans, and everyone believed that he would be making a full recovery until the pandemic delayed his regular checkups. He was even doing 15-20,000 steps a week and was working at the same time.
But, he again coughed up blood in December 2020 and was thus transported to the hospital right away where the concerned medical professionals came to action. Though the surgeons removed the remaining sections of his right lung, a CT scan revealed that cancer has spread onto another part of his body and the result was unsatisfactory.
The last good thing that the doctors said to the former MP was that he was young and well. But suddenly it’s as if a huge storm has knocked on the Brokenshire family door and taken James away from them.
Thus, Broenshire took his last breath in October 2021 and was lucky enough to be accompanied by his family members.
