Ashley Reeves survived the murderous intent of her lover Sam Shelton that year but faced his mind tactic of running off from the law the following year.
As she gradually improved her health, the near murderer Sam made many attempts to escape from the jurisdiction by faking suicide and the reasons for his deteriorated mental health.
The Reeves family decided they did not want Ashley to suffer more by retelling the horrifying incident. Hence, they had Samson agree to a plea deal, leaving him incarcerated for his crime.
Meanwhile, the survivor Ashley made an almost impossible recovery from the attack. Vizaca confirms that after she relearned to talk, eat and drink, she graduated from high school a year later.
