Financial advisor Richard Hillman, Gail’s third spouse, was exposed in 2003 as a serial killer.
Before Gail, Richard was married twice, but he never had the family he desired. His second wife, Patricia, filed for divorce after learning that Richard was unable to conceive children, while his first wife, Marion, left him after being made to care for his mentally ill mother.
Richard first met Gail in 2001 at the burial of his cousin Alma Halliwell, and he immediately fell in love with her pre-made family, which included her children Sarah and David as well as her granddaughter Bethany.
