The current 34th White House press secretary, Jen Psaki has announced that she will leave the position around a year after starting in the position.
Full name Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who works as the press secretary at the White House.
Jen was a political commentator from 2017 to 2020 for CNN. Later in November 2020, she left CNN and joined the Biden-Harris transition team.
Psaki was appointed as the White House press secretary for the Biden administration later that month.
When Is Jen Psaki Leaving White House?
Jen Psaki may leave the White House this year as per her interview with a former senior advisor to President David Axelrod on May 6, 2021.
In the interview, Psaki told him she would step down as press secretary “in about a year from now” which would mean her vacating the post in January.
Prediction: this “pundit” will say he had insight about Psaki. Too bad he doesn’t read, because she said she’d leave 8 months ago. Newsflash. https://t.co/Rw0ehwhdcv

Psaki said the Biden transition team came out to her for the job, and she made an agreement to participate temporarily at the outset of Biden’s presidency.
She told CNN in 2021, “I think it will be time for someone else to have this job in a year from now.”
Political advisor, Jen says she accepted the job after settling with the transition team to serve for about a year.
White House press secretary Jen said she intends to depart the role to spend more time with her family.
She continued, “It’s a wonderful job. It’s going to be difficult, but I also never thought I would be here, and I love my kids so much.”
Who Will Replace Jen Psaki?
Karine Jean-Pierre appears internally and externally as the next in line. However, we would not know until the White House announced the next press release.
The other potential successors include State Department spokesperson Ned Price, White House communications director Kate Bedingfield, and Jill Biden’s communications director Elizabeth Alexander.
Jen has had a long-standing relationship with Biden from her time in the Obama administration. But it was a somewhat surprising pick as the new administration’s press secretary.
Is Jen Psaki Sick? What Happened To White House Press Secretary?
Jen Psaki is not sick. Nothing has happened to the press secretary. Jen is leaving the White House to spend time with her two young children.
She said, “I don’t want to miss moments. I don’t want to miss things, and I’m very mindful of that as well.”
Also, the agreement between Jen and Biden’s transition team was that she would work only about one year at the White House as press secretary.
