Huw Edwards is a journalist, presenter, and newsreader from Wales. Edwards is the host of BBC News at Ten, the corporation’s flagship news program.

When did Huw Edwards know the queen had died?

Huw said in an interview with the Radio Times to commemorate the BBC’s 100th anniversary that he only found out about the Queen’s death 10 seconds before having to break the news live on air.

Despite being primarily a news journalist, Edwards has hosted a variety of events, including the BAFTA Cymru award ceremonies, and has presented a wide range of programming on television and radio, including documentaries on classical music, religion, and the Welsh language, of which he is a native speaker.

In 2015, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the colony’s founding, he gave a presentation on the history of the Welsh colony in Patagonia in both English and Welsh.

Edwards attended Mary Berry’s Christmas Party on BBC One in December 2018 as one of her guests.
