Edward Burns is an American actor and filmmaker.
In 1992, he graduated from Hunter College in Manhattan with a degree in English.
After graduating, Burns got his start in the film industry as a production assistant on the Oliver Stone film, The Doors. While working as a gofer at Entertainment Tonight, he financed, produced, directed and starred in his first film The Brothers McMullen(1995).
Burns has since starred in over 30 films, produce 20, directed 17, and written 18 movies and tv shows.
