Tom Parker, a famous member of the boy band The Wanted, died at the age of 33, according to the boy band.
Tom Parker was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor known as stage 4 glioblastoma in October 2020 and performed on stage with his band during their reunion tour earlier this month.
Along with Max George, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaren, and Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker was a member of The Wanted. He was born and raised in the town of Bolton.
What Was Wrong With Tom Parker?
Tom Parker had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, but he’d recently returned to the stage as part of a reunion tour. He passed away today, surrounded by his friends and family.
Parker, a father of two from Bolton, revealed in October 2020 that he had stage four glioblastoma. He went on to advocate for better brain tumor treatment.
He expressed his gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their support since he and his family made their diagnosis public, saying he was “over the moon.”
According to the Brain Tumour Research charity, those diagnosed with glioblastoma have a 12- to 18-month life expectancy.
Jayne Collins, a music producer, brought The Wanted together in 2009 to start making music. Parker was a member of a Take That tribute band that toured the North of England before joining the band.

The Wanted planned to reform for a new album and tour in 2020. The Covid pandemic struck, and Parker revealed in October of that year that he had been diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor.
Parker has been outspoken about his illness, revealing that he had two seizures before being diagnosed.
He underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and in January 2021, he wrote on social media that the treatment had “significantly reduced” the tumor’s size.
Parker appeared on several TV reality shows during this time, including MasterChef and The Jump.
The 33-year-old also starred in a UK tour of the musical Grease as Danny Zuko. Parker married Kelsey Hardwick in 2018, and they have two daughters, Aurelia and Bodhi.

The Wanted said they were “devastated” by his death in an Instagram post, adding that he “passed away peacefully at lunchtime surrounded by his family and bandmates.”
The group had two number one singles, and ten top ten chart hits with songs like ‘All time low,’ ‘Glad you came,’ and ‘Chasing the sun.’
The Wanted announced in 2014 that they were going on an indefinite hiatus to pursue solo projects after a largely successful five-year period that saw them release three albums and perform in UK arenas.
