While receiving chemotherapy, Kennedy coxed the British PR3 mixed coxed four teams to win by a staggering 19.33 seconds. On August 14th, 2022, in Munich, the Paralympic rowing champion won the European Rowing Championship.
Kennedy received a diagnosis of breast cancer earlier in May. The 30-year-old British para-rowing cox did not let her illness prevent her.
“First off, I should explain that my oncologist is entirely in favor of this, so don’t be concerned,” Kennedy stated in an interview with Olympics.com. I don’t run away from her and hide it from her.
Despite her claims that she had always been resilient, this circumstance pushed her to the test. She asserts that rather than her struggle with cancer, people will remember her for her performance on the water.
4% of British women under the age of 39 have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and Kennedy is one of them. Despite the unexpected nature of the diagnosis, Kennedy made a point of maintaining his composure.
