People are interested to know what is wrong with Bruce Arians. Bruce is an American football coach who currently serves as the head coach of the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
From 2013 until 2017, he was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. During the 2012 season, Arians served as the Indianapolis Colts’ temporary head coach.
He was the head football coach at Temple from 1983 through 1988, outside of the NFL.
What Is Wrong With Bruce Arians?
While several head coaches have been injured by 250-pound NFL players slamming into them on the sideline in the past, Bruce Arians was injured in a very different way: while trying to stay in shape.
Arians reported in early December that he was experiencing trouble walking due to an injured Achilles tendon in his right leg, which he sustained while running to lose weight.
At the start of December, the Bucs’ head coach was seen riding a scooter around the practice to keep his damaged leg off the field.
Arians stated at the time that he would be in a walking boot for a month.
Arians’ Achilles tendon is around 50 percent torn, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, and if it totally ruptures, he’ll have to have surgery, which he prefers to avoid.
If the injured tendon tears in the near future, he’ll need surgery right away. If the tendon holds up, he will have surgery once the Buccaneers’ season is finished.
Bruce Arians Heart Attack Update
Coach Bruce Arians of the Arizona Cardinals was sent to the hospital with chest trouble.
Arians became ill after returning home from the Cardinals’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis, and his wife brought him to a local hospital, according to the team.
All tests completed thus far have come back favorably, the Cardinals said, adding that he remains hospitalized for continuing examination.
In August, Arians, 64, was admitted to the hospital in San Diego after suffering stomach pains while preparing for a joint practice with the Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Associated Press voted Arians’ coach of the year in 2012 after he led the Indianapolis Colts to a 9-3 record while standing in for Coach Chuck Pagano, who was undergoing treatment for leukemia.
At the time, Arians was the team’s offensive coordinator.
Is Bruce Arians Wearing Heart Monitor Around His Neck?
Bruce Arians has a distinctive look with a microphone battery strapped to his abdomen, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach has a medical purpose for doing so.
Arians was asked why he is wearing the box around his chest during a November 2020 interview on The Rich Eisen Show.
That’s just a regular belt, Arians explained, yet I have to wear it so tight that it sticks a nerve in my leg.
So he started wearing it over his shoulder, and the nerve down his leg hasn’t given him any problems throughout the games.
Arians acknowledged that he has been asked a lot of questions about why he wears his belt over his shoulder.
The Bucs coach joked that he’s trying to make a fashion statement during games.
