What Is Wrong With Andrew Brayshaw’s Teeth?

Fremantle midfielder, Andrew, was not able to play again in the season of 2018 and was not able to eat solid food for a month following surgery on his jaw as a result of the intentional punch delivered by Eagle Andrew Gaff.

From the Andrew Gaff hit, Andrew had a broken bone between his teeth and had to have three teeth placed in splints in his jaw. In a detailed explanation, three of his lower teeth were knocked out by the punch, which shattered the section of his jaw that links the upper and lower teeth.

Right after the incident happened, Brayshaw could not remove his mouthguard because several teeth were stuck in it. Physicians were cautious in removing the mouthguard for fear of pulling the teeth and were escorted from Optus Stadium in an ambulance for further medical attention to Royal Perth Hospital.

19-year-old at the time of the incident had to go to surgery to repair his broken jaw and have three displaced lower teeth put back in place and splinted. His lips, which had been badly cut open by his teeth, were re-stitched.

A senior Eagle, Andrew Gaff, who hit the 19-year-old intentionally, was suspended for eight weeks, paying the ultimate price and missing the Eagles’ 2018 premiership.
