The Sky News Report stated that at least 65 children in England had been admitted to the hospital to perform emergency surgery to remove the magnets from their system in the last three years.
The magnets are considered a choking hazard, but when it is in the stomach, it will affect the intestine and even cut off the blood supply to the body.
A 9-year-old boy named Jack Mason became the latest victim of this trend and had to go through surgery to remove his appendix, small bowel, and 30 cm of his large bowel.

However, the video that has made this trend dangerous is one where people are placing them in their mouth to trick others as if it’s a piercing. Many children have tried to replicate the video and have ended up in hospital after swallowing the magnets and having complications.
