What are Slippers?

Slippers are light footwear that is intended to be worn indoors, especially at home. They are easy to wear and remove. A prominent reason for wearing slippers is that they provide comfort and protection for the feet when an individual is walking indoors. The initial use of slippers began in the 12th century with the wearing of slippers by the Vietnamese. In the West, they were used from 1478 onwards.

There are several types of slippers, including open-heel slippers, closed slippers, slipper boots, sandal slippers, and evening slippers. Open-heel slippers leave the heels open that are usually made with a fabric upper layer. On the other hand, closed slippers have a heel guard that prevents the foot from sliding out. Slipper boot should look identical to boots.

Sandal slippers consist of soft fabric or rubber soles. Another name for evening slippers is Prince Albert. It is made using velvet with leather soles. Some slippers are used as a novelty item. They are made from comfortable and colourful items. In addition, slippers come in different shapes of animals, cartoon characters, animal paws, and vehicles.

However, it must be noted that not every shoe with a soft fluffy interior is a slipper. In India, for instance, rubber chappals or flip flops are worn as slippers. Wearing slippers protects the feet of individuals which helps in keeping the blood flow normally. In addition, it allows the immune system to fight off the disease. Thus, slippers offer several lucrative comforts.

What are Crocs?

Crocs are easy and light footwear introduced recently. They were founded in 2002 with the use of Croslite technology. Today, crocs are available in a wide variety of styles and colours. The classic styles of crocs are available to users in more than 20 colours. The styles generally vary from one season to another.

Crocs are usually brightly coloured slip-on with toes that are identical to Swiss cheese. The holes in the crocs are known as ports and mostly all crocs have them. The strap across the back of the crocs can flip up. This allows crocs to be worn as a slip-on clog or flip-down to make the shoe more like a sandal.

The knock-off versions of crocs are generally found in white, black, pink, brown, and green. Knock-offs enjoy a worldwide market and are often sold by retailers. Crocs are generally not limited to being worn within houses. Instead, some people choose to wear it on their outings, to the office or any casual work primarily due to their comfortable nature.

Crocs are suited to all age groups from children to adults to the elder population. In addition, they are gender-neutral and therefore, can be worn by men, women, and children alike.
