Everyone has different types of skin. The reason behind that is because everybody works in their way, the metabolic processes and other processes work at their rate, and so on. With the change in the processes, the skin also changes. Generalizing all the different types of skin, skin types can be divided into 5 different categories, that are, normal skin, dry skin, combination skin, sensitive skin, and oily skin.
Sensitive Skin vs Oily Skin
The main difference between sensitive skin and oily skin is that sensitive skin can get easily affected by exposure to several different types of products when used on the skin and can show signs of allergies as well. On the other hand, oily skin is a type of skin where the skin feels greasy and shines a lot.
Sensitive skin is a type of skin that is highly reactive to products. Nominal products which might not cause any harm to the skin of other types may cause serious effects on sensitive skin. Thus, people with sensitive skin need to have proper knowledge of what they are putting on the skin before applying it.
Oily skin is one of the most common types of skin that is prominent in today’s time. The reason behind that is that all the pollution and dust present in the atmosphere can cause dysfunctioning of the oil pores present in the skin. As a result, the oil pores inside the skin break, resulting in excess oil on the skin. This causes oily skin.

What is Sensitive Skin?
In most general cases, sensitive skin can show reactions such as redness, drying of the skin, rashes, pimples, breakouts, and other such reactions when any product is applied to the skin that does not suit the skin. ICD or also known as irritant contact dermatitis is a skin condition where the skin gets affected by several different factors in the absence of proper or no sensitization. Some of the factors that can cause irritant contact dermatitis are, sweat, urine, feces, extreme heat, cold, pressure, friction, occlusion, low humidity, and UV rays as well. Irritant contact dermatitis is further divided into two different types that are, Subjective/sensory irritation or sensorineural irritation and Non-erythematous irritation or suberythematous irritation.
Allergic contact dermatitis is a type of allergic reaction which is caused by certain allergens such as thiuram, which is present in rubber and latex gloves.
What is Oily Skin?
One of the most common causes of having oily skin is when the glands in the body produce sebum in an excess amount which results in presence of an excess of oil on the skin. Due to the oil, the texture of the skin gets greasy and can seem extremely shiny under the light.
Except for extreme cases, oily skin does not require any medical treatments or regular appointments with the dermatologist. If one has good knowledge about his or her skin, then one can easily take care of the skin without any medical treatments. People having oily skin must follow certain skin tips which are not just popular but highly effective as well. One of the most effective skin tips for people with oily skin is to wash their face regularly, however, one must use cleansers that are designed for oily skin types. Moreover, exfoliating the skin about twice a week can help you keep the oil secretion in control.
Ingredients such as skin butter, face oils, petroleum jelly, and silicone should be avoided as they can increase the oil secretion of the skin. Moreover, be it any type of product, such as skincare product, cosmetic product, or any other, it is always advised to use products that are suitable for oily skin types.
