What is the Difference Between God and Jesus

God vs. Jesus

Every religion has a different outlook and idea about God and Jesus. There are no two religions that will look at both the same. For some, God is a monotheistic image who represents the way to salvation. For others, there is not just one god but many, polytheism. Jesus is typically never worshipped as a God, rather as His prophet or human version. In all religions, God is above Jesus in terms of reverence and power. God and Jesus, however, are part of some Western religions, and it is written in their Bible teachings that there is only one God, and that Jesus is His mediator not another God.

God is a figure or representation of the Creator of the world in Western religions. God is the most holy and should be praised and thanked for His teachings and ability to lead people to Heaven. Jesus is a man who represents and comes to followers as a man like all others. In Western religions, He is considered a holy man that was sent to do the work of God. In fact, some believe that Jesus was God’s Son. God cannot be killed. He is not a person. He is an Immortal Being who is not visible to mortals like you and me. An important Biblical point of these religions is that God cannot be tempted to sin by the devil. Jesus can, and in the Bible was killed. His death was said to mark the cleansing of our souls from sin. Jesus was a tangible person who, unlike God, could be tempted into sinning and doing evil by the devil. God is all powerful and, if believed in, can send the devil away. Most believe that God is in Heaven where salvation and enlightenment occur, a paradise so to speak. He is the Creator, and it is due to Him, not evolution, that man has been placed upon this Earth. On the other hand, the birth of Jesus was said to take place in Bethlehem on Christmas day. Many religions will celebrate this day as a holiday and holy day of obligation. There are other holidays throughout the year centered around Jesus like: Passover, Good Friday, and even Easter. Easter is said to be the day that Jesus rose from the grave and joined his Father, God, in Heaven.
