What is the biggest steiger tractor

What is the world’s biggest tractor? The world’s biggest tractor is the Big Bud 16V-747 Tractor, with the size of 28 ft long and 20 ft wide.

The recognition from the North American organisation comes as celebrations begin to mark 50 years since manufacturing of Steiger tractors began in Fargo, North Dakota (US) – the city where production is still ongoing today.

Steiger tractors offer up to 682 peak horsepower — the most in the industry. And with 10 percent Power Growth capabilities built into all our engines, they can handle even more in difficult conditions without compromising performance.

The tractor division of Steiger Farms was moved to Fargo, North Dakota, in 1969. … The Steiger name disappeared for a while, but was re-introduced on the 4WD tractors in Case IH’s stable as their flagship line, they can also be purchased as a New Holland.

It also means the Quadtrac retains the title of the most powerful production tractor in the world. Power comes from a six-cylinder engine from FPT Industrial, a separate arm of the Case New Holland empire. It’s the same 12,900cc unit as before but now with two intercoolers and heavyweight torque of 2,941Nm.

Steiger had worked itself into a tough spot. By the early ’70s, the company had grown very quickly, but they didn’t have the capital to keep the doors open. They were building tractors for Allis Chalmers and a Canadian company called Co-Op, but between development costs and salaries, the company was strapped for cash.

The Steiger^® 620, with industry leading peak 680 horsepower and a 12.9 L Tier 4 B/Final engine, can handle the largest implements and toughest conditions. Available configurations: HD Wheeled, Quadtrac^® and HD Wheeled Scraper.
