R. Meddows Taylor OBE is an English musician, singer, and composer who was born on July 26, 1949.
As the rock band Queen’s drummer, he attained widespread renown. Taylor’s distinct sound as a drummer was recognized early in his career.
In a 2005 listener survey sponsored by Planet Rock, Taylor was ranked as the ninth-best drummer in the history of classic rock music.
He was a member of Queen when it was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
