Marc Singer was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on 29 January 1948 – his zodiac sign is Aquarius and he holds American nationality, as his family moved to the US shortly after he was born. He is an actor, who is perhaps still best known for his lead role in the sword and sorcery movie “The Beastmaster” in 1982, which was both written and directed by Don Coscarelli and also starred Tanya Roberts and Rip Torn. The story follows a young man with supernatural powers who is fighting evil with his animal friends – the movie won an Antennae II Award at Avoriaz Fantastic Film Festival, while the actor Joshua Milrad was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Young Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

Marc was raised alongside his two brothers, Gregory and Claude, and their sister Lori in Corpus Christi in Texas USA, by their British mother Leslie Wright who was a concert pianist, and their Polish father Jacques who was a symphony conductor. Marc’s sister has also become an actress, and is known for her roles in the spy drama film “The Falcon and the Snowman” and the comedy ,movie “The Man with One Red Shoe”.
Marc became interested in acting while attending high school, at which he was also focused on playing soccer as he was among the best players in his school. He practiced cello together with Lori, and while she has since become a famous cellist, Marc abandoned playing instruments, and upon matriculation in 1966 focused on working and financially supporting himself – he changed many jobs until 1973, when he launched his acting career.

In 1990, Marc appeared in five movies – his most notable performance was in the fictional film “Dan Turner, Hollywood Detective” in which he played the title character – the story follows detective Dan who has to figure out who used his gun to kill his best friend and his police buddy. Wife and children
Marc married his other half Haunani Minn, the late American actress, on 17 June 1974. They met in 1971 at a party organized by their mutual friend, and the two ventured into the film industry together two years later. Haunani is still remembered for her roles in movies such as “The Man with Two Brains”, “Mulan” and “Young Doctors in Love”. On 21 January 1991, Marc’s wife gave birth to their daughter Phoebe Singer who has been staying away from the media’s attention, while it is known that she was also interested in acting while attending high school, and appeared in several plays.
Haunani died on 23 November 2014 after having battled a rare disease for several years, and Marc has since been single.
Marc hasn’t talked about any other women he might have been with before he met Haunani, and as of September 2020, he is single, was once married now a widower, and has a daughter.
Hobbies and other interests
Marc was physically very active during his 20s, 30s and 40s, as he had four to five training sessions at the gym each week, and he was also interested in martial arts and is today the holder of a black belt in kung fu.
He likes to travel, and his career as an actor has made it possible for him to travel all around the US, while he has also been to many European, Asian and African countries – Marc’s dream travel destination is Bern in Switzerland.
He is a lover of animals and has had several pet dogs and cats all of which have died due to old age. Marc is a philanthropist, and has donated a part of his fortune to charitable causes.
