James Dixon Australian rock musician “Jimmy” Barnes is of Scottish descent.

What is Jimmy Barnes’ most famous song?

Jimmy Barnes’ most famous song is Flame Trees. One of Cold Chisel’s best-known and most successful songs is Flame Trees. It first appeared on the band’s Twentieth Century album in 1984, then over ten years later, Jimmy Barnes featured it on Flesh and Wood.

Barnes began an apprenticeship in a foundry with South Australian Railways in 1973, but his passion for music prompted him to start a band with his brother.

Barnes began his solo career in December 1983, little than a month after Cold Chisel’s Last Stand tour ended.

Barnes has more number-one solo albums in Australia than any other musician.

In January 2019, Barnes made a statement about his upcoming My Criminal Record, his eighteenth solo studio album. It was published on May 17, 2019.

Barnes announced in 2021 that he has started a rockabilly band with Slim Jim Phantom and Chris Cheney.
