What Is David Cage Quantic Dream Controversy?
David Cage’s Quantic Dream Controversy involves his company alleged of having toxic workplace environment.
French newspaper Le Monde for libel alleged the game studio Quantic Dream of having a very toxic work environment.
The incident began in January 2018, when the French publications Le Monde, Mediapart, and Canard PC released a combined exposé alleging improper behavior, rudeness, and a schoolboy attitude at the famed French studio, including sexist and racial remarks.
Quantic Dream was nearing completion on Detroit: Become Human, its third PlayStation system exclusive in its association with Sony at the time according to Eurogamer.
Cage and de Fondaumière both firmly denied the allegations, saying they were “shocked” by the “rantings” of former employees, and calling them “ridiculous, absurd and grotesque”.
According to an article by Solidaires Informatique, which was translated by Eurogamer, Le Monde’s case was weakened since it was unable to verify some portions of its story without revealing the sources’ identities.
“We’re not gonna take a stance on the Activision CEO controversy, but here’s a game by David Cage.”
The Game Awards get this weird pass because it’s Geoff’s brainchild and he is so “passionate” about this kind of stuff but fuck dude he kind of sucks ass right now.
