What Has Happened To Amanda Barrie Eyesight?
Amanda Barrie lost vision in her left eye in 1997. She battled with a serious optic disease at that time.
One day, when Christmas was around the corner, she suddenly could not see properly. She went to the optician who lived in a flat below her. The optician suggested she go to the doctor immediately after finding out her left eye was hemorrhaging.
In an interview, she said that the blood vessels around her eye had hemorrhaged into the center of the retina, filling it with blood and blocking up the blood vessels that should carry the blood away from the eye. It blocked the center of vision completely.
However, she had started having a problem in her eye a few months before it reached the worst stage. She had discovered she had retinal vein occlusion, and the doctor had told her that it could turn out to be worse.
When her left eye showed a severe problem, she shared how she did not want to sleep of a fear that she would not be able to see the light again if she shut it off.
She took two weeks of break. She lost vision in her left eye, but thankfully her right eye works perfectly. She even gave her left eye a name- Walter. She could not even cry because tears made the condition.
She had to change her lifestyle, but she reminded herself that she had to fight because if she did not, it could turn out to be worse.
Amanda Barrie Health Condition In 2022- How Is She?
Amanda Barrie’s health condition is good in 2022. However, she lost vision in her left eye in 1997 and she suffers from age-related hearing loss since 2018.
But, she did not let it bring her confidence down. Despite her eye condition, she adapted to her environment quickly. She was able to read the scripts and even told others not to change anything for her sake as she could go on as she did before her eye’s condition worsened.
Besides her battle with the optic disease, she had also once suffered from anxiety about having cervical cancer. Thankfully, the doctors ruled out that possibility, but she has a non-cancerous condition where there were non-malignant growths in her womb, which is called hysterectomy.
She had surgery to treat the illness and even went to work after four weeks of rest. She also encouraged others to be optimistic if they went through a similar situation as her.
