RaDonda Vaught, who made a fatal drug error in 2017, is going through a trial verdict.
After a three-day trial verdict in Nashville, Tenn. she was found guilty of criminally negligent homicide and gross neglect of an impaired adult Charlene Murphy on Friday.
Vaught was held liable for the death of Murphy because of a mix-up between medications. Actually, she was supposed to be given the sedative, Versed, but was instead given an incredibly strong paralyzing medication called vecuronium as per the Sun.
Following this incident, some of the nurses have even come out in the support of Vaught telling that it is not fair to only blame the nurse and not hold any accountability for the system (hospital).
It is found that she made an accidental error and gave a patient incorrect medication. And it was because the person was not her assigned patient and was just trying to help out another nurse while orienting her own new nurse on a floating unit.
