What Happened With Megan Joyce Mohn Of Utah Great Salt Lake City? Story About Her Passing

Police arrested Megan Joyce Mohn on Jan 11, and on Jan 30, she was declared dead. Her immediate cause of death was because of brain injuries after the arrest, but there is a lot of story in this case.

The interaction involving Salt Lake City Police officers and a lady whose death was recently declared a homicide by the medical examiner is seen in the newly released body camera footage.

Three of the four responding officers provided body camera footage. Because the first officer on the scene did not have a bodycam, no footage was supplied.

Per an earlier press release, police responded to a complaint that Mohn was making a disturbance and trespassing on private property at Marathon Petroleum. According to a security guard, Mohn was “going in circles holding a piece of rebar” near the junction of 400 West 900 North.

Utah Woman Died Of Cardiac Arrest And Brain Injury After Arrest

The Medical Examiner revealed the Utah woman’s death as a homicide nearly six months after her death.

The medical department determined the cause of death as “anoxic brain injury” because of “cardiac arrest” due to “possible methamphetamine intoxication in the setting of an incident involving physical restraint.”

As per the media release, Mohn declined to answer the officer’s questions while held on the grass, began to struggle, and kicked an officer “many times.”

Officers from the SLCPD tried to calm Mohn, but she “kept kicking” and “continued shouting randomly.” Officers restrained her legs after seeing she had ceased moving and shouting.

Officers placed Mohn in a “recovery position” after seeing his rapid shift in behavior. She was still breathing but unresponsive, they discovered.
