News that Zhou Guanyu was okay and conscious was received after a brief wait while rescue workers and medical personnel worked to remove him from the Alfa’s wreckage.
Zhou was taken from the debris and put on a stretcher, according to his team’s manager Frederic Vasseur, who also confirmed the news.
He was placed in an ambulance and will be brought to a hospital for evaluation.
