What Happened To Xavier Duursma? Updates On His Injury And Health

Xavier Duursma injured his collarbone in late March in a match against Brisbane.

Xavier escaped the worst as he could have broken his collarbone, which would have put him out of the game for months on end as it healed.

Since his last serious injury, he has recovered fully and is in perfect health condition. Duursma is set to replace Kane Farrell due to health and safety protocols in Round 8.

The 21-year-old football player was born to his father Dean Duursma on July 7, 2000. Dean Duursma, despite never playing professionally, was on the Sydney and Melbourne AFL lists, but a faulty body part ended his career.

Xavier’s uncle, Jamie, on the other hand, had a long and fruitful career with the Swans, Brisbane, and Demons.

Xavier Duursma Injury 2022 – What Happened To Him?

Xavier Duursman, an Adelaide footballer, suffered from a collarbone injury in a match in late March of 2022. At first glance, it was thought to be broken but his coach assured the public that he was okay structurally even though he was still feeling sore.

Xavier was not the only one injured in the match against Brisbane. Trent McKenzie, a teammate, had an unstable landing and injured his knee, so he was escorted off the field by a medical team as well.

The injuries suffered by both players were less serious than first thought.

It was a terrible night for the Port Adelaide team as three more players, Robbie Gray, Connor Rozee, and Aliir Aliir, were forced to leave the field due to fatigue.

Update On Health Condition Of Xavier Duursma

Xavier Duursma has recovered from the injuries he suffered in late March and is in fit health condition now. He recently dominated the SANFL performance that took place in late April.

This is not the first time Xavier was injured during a game.  Duursma suffered a significant hyperextension of his right knee in April of last year, forcing him to leave the game during the last quarter of Port’s victory over Richmond.

He underwent surgery three days after the accident and needed to have the lateral ligament, the LCL, on the outside part of his knee repaired. The injury knocked him from upcoming games for 10-12 weeks.

Like most athletes these days, Xavier has jumped at the chance of connecting with his fans through his Instagram account. He is available under the handle @xavierduursma21 where he has amassed over 24.6K followers.
