Mother has been always portrayed to us as a loving and caring figure. Not only human mothers but also mothers of animals are caring and they go beyond anything for their children.

What Happened To Robert Knickerbocker?
Diane Downs was in love with Robert Knickerbocker. He was a married man but, Diane was obsessed with him and mentioned that she was willing to kill his wife to have him.
After she got divorced from her husband, Steve Downs, she wanted to start a life with her ex-boyfriend Robert. But Robert made it clear that he didn’t want her children as that would be too long strings.
Diane thought that if she killed the children then Robert would accept her for the rest of his life. On May 19, 1983, Diane shot the children several times at close range.
Nothing had happed to Robert Knickerbocker as he was never found guilty in the case. He and his wife had reconciled throughout the investigation and the trial.
He testified against Diane, and his wife stood by him. Robert came into the eyes of the investigators when Diane called him upon arriving at the hospital with the injured children.

Diane Downs’s boyfriend, Robert Knickerbocker was never a suspect or a person of interest in the case. He was interogated but, the police never had a reason to doubt him.
Robert came clean to his wife about the affair, and then, went on to help the police in their investigation. Robert is in his early sixties now and retired.
He is living a good, simple life in his hometown, Arizona, away from the public’s eye. Christy and Danny are not in contact with Diane. Christy is married and got a child, however, Danny, a computer wizard, is paralyzed but is living a happy, and normal life.
Where Is Diane Downs Today?
Diane Downs, after the conviction of attempting to kill her children and killing one of them, got sentenced to life in prison. She was arrested on February 28, 1984.
Her own child Christie after regaining her speech, the facts became clear. When asked who shot her, the girl replied simply, “My mom.” Diane tried to kill her children and shot herself in the arm.
