Is Ramon Nieves Innocent Or Guilty?
In October 2019, he entered a not guilty plea to a second-degree felony assault accusation. Nieves was permitted to get a modified bond to the one he first got on October 9, 2019, on June 16.
Nieves posted the initial $100,000 bail (with no 10% permitted), but Judge Patrick Lang imposed several conditions.
He was put under house arrest at his current Cambridge home and ordered to wear an ankle monitor. Additionally, he was told to avoid all communication with Alex Andrews, the victim. Further, Nieves’ defense team submitted a request to permit him to travel from his house to a Cambridge hospital for his medical checkups.
All previous terms, including an ankle monitor, were incorporated in the new bond, which is $150,000 with no 10% tolerance. Due to a tamper alarm from his ankle monitor that was obtained early on June 12, 2020, the earlier bond was canceled.
How Old Is Ramon Nieves?
Ramon is 28 years old as of 2022. The latest allegations, which center on Nieves’ cell phone, include vandalism & tampering with evidence.
His phone would be subject to the June 15, 2020, search warrant. According to the contract, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office has “good cause” to suspect that “Mr. Nieves’ mobile phone contains evidence of the commission of the felony act of felonious assault.”
Maxwell Hiltner, Nieves’ Akron-based attorney, disputed the search and claimed it was against the Fourth Amendment, which forbids unauthorized searches and seizures.
Hiltner pointed out that the claimed assault occurred more than three years ago and that there isn’t enough evidence to support that Neives’ mobile phone still has proof of the purported attack.
