A gun and a surprise went horribly bad resulting in the death of a cherished 18-year-old track star, Premila Lal. Premila Lal was a recent graduate of Niwot High School.
Premila used to live with his family in Longmont, Colorado. She had a brother named Pranil Lal who used to live with her in the house.
She was allegedly killed by her friend, Nerreck Daniel Galley, after hiding in a closet and surprising him. She was taken to the hospital but was declared dead shortly.

Premila Lal, an 18-year-old Indian-origin girl was killed in a strange accident in the United States after she jumped out of a closet to surprise a friend, who mistakenly shot her thinking she was an invader.
Premila surprised Nerrek Galley, a 21-year-old family acquaintance, by jumping out of a closet as a lighthearted joke. The noise, however, scared Nerrek, who grabbed a revolver and shot her, according to her father, Praveen Lal.
The incident occurred in Longmont, Colorado, north of Denver, on Friday night. According to investigators, the teen’s death was “unintended and terribly unfortunate.”
Where Is Nerrek Galley Today?
There is no information about where the murderer of Premila Lal, Nerrek Galley is. He is most probably serving his time in prison after the unfortunate incident.
Galley had recently moved in with the Lal family and was keeping a watch on their newly vacated property when the incident occurred. Nerrek was playing video games with Premila’s 15-year-old brother, Pranil when Lal and her cousin crept into the house just before 8 p.m.
Galley then shot Premila and she died. He was arrested on counts of reckless endangerment, child cruelty, and giving a gun to a juvenile as Lal’s 15-year-old brother had access to the gun, according to police.
Premila Lal Injuries
Premila Lal did not have any further injuries besides her gunshot mark. She was shot by a gun and died while rushing to the hospital.
The deceased and Galley were best friends, according to family members, and Lal was hiding in a closet and jumped out to surprise Galley, who shot her after being shocked.
Apart from the gun mark, Premila had no injuries on her body and no signs of sexual abuse according to the police.
