The father of another passenger on the bus that night said that she was leaning on the glass and the latches on the emergency window were broken. And, accidentally, she fell out.

The owner of Charlotte Party Charters, Victor Rabb, said they have never faced such a situation in years of operation. He added that someone might have pulled the window.
