With a fractured rib, the Los Angeles Dodgers put star right fielder Mookie Betts on the injured list, but they are optimistic that he will return before the end of the month.
Baseball player Mookie Betts has pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox since entering Major League Baseball in 2015.
The second-largest baseball deal in MLB history was signed by him in July 2020.
Prior to making his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in 2014 with the Red Sox, Betts played in the minor leagues. He has since played exclusively for them. He was chosen for the MLB All-Star team in 2016.
Further, Mookie and the Red Sox defeated the Dodgers to win the World Series on October 28, 2018. Prior to the 2020 season, the Dodgers signed him in a trade.
What Happened To Mookie Betts’ Ribs? Injury And Health Update
Following a benign X-ray and a chest contusion diagnosis, the Los Angeles Dodgers first thought Mookie Betts had escaped an injury that would have forced him to miss time.
Plus, Betts underwent an MRI, which indicated a fractured rib, but continued agony forced him to do so.
The incident was compared to Cody Bellinger’s non-displaced fractured ribs from the previous season, which kept him off the field for around two weeks. Betts and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts thought the same timeline would apply.
Before starting his recovery process to come off the 10-day disabled list, Betts was first expected to take a few days off from baseball-related activities.
Prior to incurring the rib injury after colliding with Bellinger, Betts had been shown to be healthy this season after fighting with right hip pain for the majority of the 2021 season. He dismissed feeling frustrated, although that injury has ended another season.

When Will Mookie Betts Play Again?
Mookie Betts was initially expected to recover from his fractured rib in two weeks when the Los Angeles Dodgers put him on the 10-day injured list on June 19.
Betts’ recuperation ended up taking longer than expected, and he didn’t start taking dry swings until recently.
According to Owen Perkins of MLB.com, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts still expects Betts to make a comeback before the All-Star Game, although as a designated hitter due to pain when throwing.
While Trea Turner has ably filled in for Betts in the leadoff slot of the Dodgers offense during his absence, it has been more difficult to find a replacement for right field.
At Dodger Stadium, Eddy Alvarez was handed the first chance and fought valiantly against the sun.
