The BBC has agreed to pay “substantial” damages to the former nanny of Princes William and Harry in response to “false and malicious” allegations that she had an affair with Prince Charles and terminated a pregnancy, which was made by the discredited journalist Martin Bashir.
Martin Bashir deceived Princess Diana’s brother to obtain a tell-all interview with her in 1995, an inquiry found. It also faulted the BBC for covering up Bashir’s conduct, which included making fake bank statements to undermine a rival news organization. https://t.co/n3a0OqAcLU

During it, Bashir is accused of telling Earl Spencer a lie when he says Alexandra Pettifer, then known as Tiggy Legge-Bourke, had an affair with the heir to the throne.
