Marcelo Pecci is a specialized prosecutor against organized crime and drug trafficking whose murder news has shocked the whole world.
He was attacked on the island of Bar, in the city of Cartagena, Colombia, on Tuesday, according to Interpol Paraguay. In a short statement, the Paraguayan Association of Fiscal Agents regretted Pecci’s passing.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Paraguayan ambassador to that country, Sophia López Garelli, was asked to acquire details about what happened and to alert the victim’s wife and the highest authorities.

The Public Ministry agent was on his honeymoon in that nation after marrying Claudia Aguilera, who had just disclosed her pregnancy hours before.
Unofficial information claims that prosecutor Pecci and his wife were leaving the scene when unknown men on jet skis fired shots. The prosecutor’s wife was unarmed.
