What Happened To Luke Rockhold?
As per the report of mmafighting.com, Luke Rockhold declared his retirement following Paulo Costa’s hard-fought three-round victory in the co-main event of UFC 278.
Up to the last horn, it was a struggle, but Costa was continually inflicting more damage round by round, and the judges decided to award him the victory with three scores of 30-27 to his advantage.
Rockhold started taking off his gloves as soon as the bout was over and the winner was announced, signifying the end of his professional career.
As the middleweights poured everything they had at each other, Rockhold gave it his best in the cage and fought Costa in a brutal contest.
The former UFC Middleweight Champion attempted a takedown early on, which prompted Costa to launch into a volley of punches as he started launching punches at him.
The fight ended when Rockhold, who had somehow managed to evade a submit attempt, slid back on top and practically rubbed his bloodied head down on Costa.
“I gave it everything I had, but I’m getting old,” Rockhold said, “I can’t do this anymore.”
Luke was greeted as he emerged from the cage by his former teammate and close friend Daniel Cormier, who had just left the TV booth.
