English singer Liam Payne rose to fame as a member of One Direction. He has always been remembered as a sweet and humble member of the band, however, with his recent interview with Logan Paul, fans are thinking if they were wrong.
What Happened To Liam Payne?
Liam Payne appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
He pondered on his feelings for one of his bandmates after the interview. He also spoke about his time with One Direction and recent personal problems. Payne also discussed One Direction girl troubles, as well as his relationship with ex-wife Cheryl and struggles with fatherhood.
The One Direction singer was hounded by fans after comments against his former bandmates and solo career were made during the interview.
What Did Liam Payne Say About One Direction?
Liam Payne had pointed a dig at his former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik in his recent interview. The 28-year-old did not hold back and stated there are “Many Reasons” why he dislikes Zayn.
During the podcast, Youtuber Paul recalled his brother Jake Paul’s furious exchange with Malik in 2020. He said: “I had an experience with one of your early bandmates – he was fired up,”.
Paul also talked about Jake’s tweet when his brother told Zayn was disrespectful towards him. Shortly, after Malik’s girlfriend, Gigi Hadid had called Jake’s tweet “Ugly and Irrelevant”.
Meanwhile, Payne jokingly called Zayn “Wayne Malik” referring to his soccer player-like temperament. He also referred to an alleged altercation that Zayn had with Hadid’s mother.
Payne then went on to discuss his dislikes for Zayn Malik without going into detail regarding the underlying surface.
The singer said: “Before we go too deep into this, there are many reasons why I dislike Zayn, and there are many reasons why I’ll always always be on his side.”
Likewise, Payne cryptically said: “If I had had to go through what he went through… through his growth and whatever else.. my parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times… and Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense”
Moving on with his words Payne also said: ” I can’t sit here and d*** on him because of whatever and listen, I don’t agree with any of his actions. I can’t commend some of the things that he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that.”
The singer did not get into the specifics about which action of Zayn he is referring to. However, it made it pretty clear had he had a clash with Malik.
Liam Payne’s Interview With Logan Paul Faces Backlash From One Direction Fans
Twitter users have roasted Liam Payne for airing his former One Direction bandmate’s dirty laundry. His name began trending on Twitter shortly after the interview was released. Most of the fans have criticized him for talking “Crap” about his former bandmates.
One person had tweeted: “Hey, no hate! But this is me trying to figure out how Liam Payne could say such bad things about certain 1D members when they literally gave him a career through One Direction, he didn’t make it through x factor by himself for a reason,”
Similarly, another user @luco_zain has said: “Liam Payne trying to shift the blame when HE was the one to bring up that tweet by Gigi & stared bitching about Zayn from the get-go. He ain’t your family if you gonna go on a white man’s show (whose brother harassed zayn!) to attack his upbringing. Stop acting like a victim now.”
