According to officials, a mother and her child were killed when a car struck them on Interstate 20 near Mesquite late Monday.
The accident occurred on westbound I-20 at Farm Road 741 in east Mesquite around 11 p.m.

According to authorities, Jennifer Young was driving westbound on I-20 when her BMW collided with a Nissan Sentra, rendering both vehicles immobile.
According to investigators, the Sentra became entangled in a steel cable barrier, while Young’s BMW came to a standstill in the middle of the road.
They’d just escaped an automobile accident that had rendered their vehicle useless.
But as they clambered out of their smashed BMW, they were struck and murdered by another vehicle that had swerved to avoid the carnage.
