Nell O’Brien aka Diane Ladd from Chesapeake Shores, after receiving a diagnosis of pneumonia, was informed that she only had six months to live.  By recovering from the sickness, she disproved them.

Nell, the O’Brien family grandmother in the show, is pleasant, nurturing, and knowledgeable. Mick’s wife, Megan, her son’s mother, left him with many small children.

The O’Brien family’s care was then supervised by Nell, who had moved in. She has served as the family’s unifying force over the years despite its many conflicts and divisions, as per reports suggested by Fandom.

She is all too conscious of the flaws and errors of her dear ones, yet she never decides for them what to do. Instead, the granny lets them choose their own routes, sometimes more slowly than earlier.

Ladd doesn’t appear to be playing the same part, at least not in the list of actors. She has long served as the family’s guide during disputes of all types.
