A famous Irish television and radio broadcaster, Eoghan McDermott, has hosted The Voice of Ireland and Ireland’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest selection programs. He most recently hosted the RTÉ 2FM Breakfast Show on the radio.
The former RTE star recently broke his silence following his breakup with medical girlfriend Aoife Melia, apologizing that they “didn’t get to see their happy ending” together.
Amid the announcement, a flurry of stories about the Irish presenter has been circulating online, including information about his past allegations.
What Happened To Eoghan McDermott?
Since bogus claims against Eoghan McDermott first appeared, he has been largely absent from the media.
Earlier this year, he addressed the charges for the first time, writing on Twitter: “A few months ago, false accusations were made about me. These accusations were extensively disseminated despite not being looked into or independently proven, and I’m still processing their implications.
“I hope the following will bring this chapter to a close.”
He then included a letter from the accuser’s attorney claiming that in March 2021, “false charges” concerning Eoghan were made in online postings and tweets sent from an anonymous account.
Besides, the client has “accepted that there were several lies contained in her writings,” according to the letter from the council.
Additionally, it states that the client “regrets her actions” and “concedes that her actions have negatively impacted and continue to impact your client and others close to him negatively.”

Former RTE Star Eoghan McDermott Sexual Misconduct Allegations
Last year, allegations of sexual misbehavior against Eoghan McDermott were made public on Reddit and Twitter by the accuser, Eleanor Bingley.
The charges derived from a relationship between the anonymous poster and McDermott in 2010 were posted online in March of last year via an anonymous Twitter account.
As mentioned above, the allegations are false.
Contrary to what she had first claimed, the lawyer’s client acknowledged that they were “over the age of consent on all occasions that she and McDermott met or indulged in a physical connection.”
She understands how serious this accusation is and categorically retracts it. Following the original assertions, the letter goes on to recant several allegations against McDermott.

Aoife Melia, the ex-girlfriend of Eoghan McDermott, is now seeing Charlie Coyle, the late Tayto founder, Ray Coyle’s son.
Before quitting his job at 2FM due to unfounded charges that have subsequently been refuted, the Limerick native had been dating Aoife for some years.
Apologizing for “the upheaval that upended her life,” Eoghan wrote on Instagram in a lengthy post that Aoife is “the most lovely person he’s ever met,” adding that he wishes her “every happiness” in her “new life.”
He noted: “In ways that I haven’t yet comprehended, the past 18 months have been painful and drastically changed my life.” I first met Aoife 15 years ago, and I still believe she is the most wonderful person I’ve ever known.
