What Happened To Eddie Betts? Camp Experience – Wife And Family

Former AFL champion Eddie Betts’ biography “The Boy from Boomerang Crescent” includes a chapter on the controversial 2018 Adelaide Crows’ preseason training camp following a devastating loss to Richmond in the 2017 grand final. Here are some crucial facts about him.

Betts is a former Australian rules football player who competed for the Carlton and Adelaide Football Clubs in the AFL.

Carlton initially selected Betts with the third overall pick in the 2004 Preseason Draft. He played for Carlton for nine years before being signed by Adelaide as a free agent at the end of 2013.

After the 2019 season, he relocated back to Carlton, where he would play his final 350 games and kick 640 goals before calling it a career.

The Geelong Football Club currently employs Betts as a development coach.

The former Adelaide football player recently published a confronting account of his experience at a preseason camp with the Crows in early 2018. This caused the AFL community to react with disgust.

What Happened To Eddie Betts? Camp Experience

AFL champion Eddie Betts has spoken about the notorious Adelaide Crows camp, admitting that the ‘weird’ and ‘disrespectful’ experience made him lose interest in football.

In his autobiography, Betts, who retired last year after a glittering 350-game career, describes the significant consequences of the Crows’ 2018 preseason camp.

The eagerly awaited book “The Boy from Boomerang Crescent” will be published on Wednesday, but excerpts have already leaked via Nine newspaper.

Betts, an iconic Indigenous player and one of the most excellent small forwards in AFL history, has claimed that the group in charge of the camp misused sensitive personal data. He made this claim despite not naming the organization in the book.

Betts claimed that the events at the camp on the Gold Coast and the group’s involvement with the club hurt his mental state and performance during the 2018 campaign.

Three weeks later, according to Betts, the Crows’ leadership group allegedly let him go after he spoke to the playing group about how unsafe and uneasy the camp made him feel.

In 2019, he continued to play for the Crows before asking to be traded back to his original team, Carlton.

Additionally, Betts played 36 more games for the Blues before retiring after the previous campaign.

The camp in question was held following Adelaide’s shocking loss to Richmond in the 2017 grand final.
