American radio host, Don Bongino, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer, back in September 2020.
In 1995, Bongino started his career working for the New York City Police Department, where he served until 1999. After that, he joined the New York Field Office of the US Secret Service as a special agent.
In order to work as a tutor at the Secret Service Training Academy in Beltsville, Maryland, Bongino resigned from this position in 2002. He was thereafter recruited to the Presidential Protection Division, where he worked until May 2011.
As a far-right radio personality and commentator on local and national programs, Bongino has gained notoriety in the media.
Along with that, he frequently makes appearances on InfoWars and Fox News, two websites that promote far-right conspiracies.
What Happened To Dan Bongino? Update On His Cancer
In September of 2020, Bongino was diagnosed with severe throat cancer. After successful surgery, he disclosed that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Following the prognosis, Bongino acknowledged he sobbed uncontrollably while flying. He was unsure of his prognosis and the sort of cancer he had at the time.
It’s difficult to shake the feeling of apprehension that comes over you when you hear the word “cancer” for the first time. Thankfully, once the “new normal” takes hold, things do get simpler.
Besides, in 2021, Bongino declared himself free of illness. Although Bongino has been more fortunate than most by surviving, he also spoke about the difficult moments he experienced undergoing chemotherapy in a previous interview with SurvivorNet.
In order to obtain enough sleep for work, Bongino struggled and spent many nights awake, seeking solace from his wife.
Overall, despite some difficult times, Bongino has remained remarkably optimistic throughout his battle with cancer—and very authentic, retaining a strong, resolute attitude.
