One-eyed killer Dale Cregan is sentenced to a whole life order in prison for four murders including two female police officers. But, how did he lose his eye?
On May 25, 2012, Dale Cregan gunned down Mark Short, 23, at a pub in Droyslden. He also attempted to kill three other people in the same incident.
He escaped the scene and killed Mark’s father David Short, age 46, three months later. He shot David at his house and threw a hand grenade at him on August 10.
The former drug-lord was on the run from the police department. Then, on September 18, he made a hoax call and lured two female police officers, Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone, into a trap.
When the officers responded to the call and arrived at the scene, he threw a hand grenade at them and fired 32 shots at them in under 31 seconds.
Following the incident, he surrendered himself to the police and admitted to the four murders, reported The Daily Star.

Dale Cregan, a former drug lord, and murderer, is often referred to as “One Eye” due to his missing left eye. He claimed he lost his eye during a gang fight in Thailand.

No, Dale Cregan is not dead. He is alive and serving his jail time at the HM Prison Full Sutton, as per The U.S. Sun.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a whole life order on June 13, 2013, a year after he killed Mark Short.
When he heard he will die in prison, he went on a hunger strike and was subsequently transferred to Ashworth psychiatric hospital in Liverpool.
He stayed there for some time before the experts declared him sane and sent him back to Full Sutton prison.
