Ch Shujaat Hussain Family Explored

Ch Shujaat Hussain hails from a Jat family. His ancestors came from rural Gujrat with no political experience.

His father, Zahoor Elahi, was a junior constable in the Punjab Police Force. Later, he left the force and established a cotton factory.

He lost a cotton factory during the Indian partition, but it was rebuilt in Gujrat after Pakistan was established in 1947.

He joined the family industrial group in 1969 after his graduating. Ch Shujaat then joined national politics after his father’s demise.

Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, his younger brother, has also been elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly three times.

Wajahat got elected to the National Assembly in the 2002 and 2008 general elections.
