In the summer of 2014, Capri Grotowski was appointed head coach of the FAU sand volleyball team.
With the squad consistently finishing in the top 25 and reaching as high as No. 8 in the national rankings, she swiftly transformed the program into a national powerhouse.
Grotowski tripled the Owls’ dual match victory total in her first season as FAU’s head coach by guiding the team to a 9-6 dual match record in 2015.

Grotowski was survived by her husband, Steve Grotowski, who represented Great Britain in beach volleyball at the 2012 London Olympics.
