What Happened To Bernard Cherfan? Death Of Canadian Businessman Shocks Family & Friend

Bernard Cherfan is identified to be the deceased victim of Wednesday evening’s shooting at Laval restaurant.

The recent shootout has called for immediate attention from the police and legal authorities. As Bernard Cherfan was identified, the police named him to be a close person to the mafia.

Thus, Chefan’s death could lead to another mafia breakdown. The Sûreté du Québec has claimed responsibility for investigating this murder while it has panicked the residents.

Cherfan’s death in a public place has people questioning the police’s influence and duties in Laval.

Bernard Cherfan Is The Victim Of Laval Restaurant Shooting

Bernard Cherfan is the only victim of the Laval restaurant shooting incident. Hence, his death was a planned murder carried out by a rival clan.

He was having dinner at La Perle Vietnamienne Restaurant at Laurentides Boulevard in the Vimont district on June 1.

One or more suspects entered the building during his dinner time, headed towards him, and shot him. The suspects then fled the scene while Cherfan was taken to a hospital.

He was in a critical condition and succumbed to his hun wounds, reports Monreal Gazette.

The police were notified of the crime after multiple 911 calls were made around 7:25 p.m. after the shooting.

Bernard Cherfan is considered to be a close aide to notorious mafia names, Stefano Sollecito and Frédérick Silva.

Radio-Canada writes that the police consider the late Cherfan is related to Frédérick Silva, who was recently convicted of three homicides.

The Montreal police suspect Cherfan of having helped Silva hide after he failed to murder Andrew Scoppa, another clan leader of the mafia, in February 2017.

This is the second alleged member of Silva’s close guard to be killed within weeks following the May 11 murder of Sébastien Giroux.

Stefano Sollecito is a notorious mafia leader, while Frédérick Silva is a top-notch hit man who was recently sentenced to four life sentences for killing three men in 2018.

According to Montreal Gazette, Silva was also put on trial for the attempted murder of Montreal Mafia leader Salvatore Scoppa.

More On Bernard Cherfan Age And Wiki

Bernard Cherfan was 42 years old, according to journalist Maxime Deland’s tweets who has openly reported on the former’s murder.

The police cited Cherfan as an experienced drug importer, trafficker, fraudster, loan shark, and money launderer. Moreover, various rumors suggest that he could have been a cell leader linked to Lebanese organized crime.

Cherfan was particularly active in Laval and had some connections to the underworld.

However, this is not the first time he faced such an attack. Cherfan had escaped a murder attempt, still in Laval, in June 2015.

Meanwhile, his death marks the second tragedy for his family. His family lost his younger brother, Rony, to a personal watercraft accident on the St. Lawrence River in Varennes last August.
