Belal Muhammad Eye Poke And Face Injury Update
Belal Muhammad’s eye poke and facial injuries in his UFC battle resulted in a no-contest in 2021. However, he appears to have fully recovered from the injury.
He is currently making his way towards UFC Fight Night which is happening at the Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Muhammad is scheduled to fight Vicente Luque at the Fight Night event on Saturday, April 16, 2022.
Since being knocked out by Luque in their first meeting in November 2016, Belal Muhammad (20-3) has gone 10-1 in the promotion.
After beating Lima in February, Muhammad made a short turnaround, filling in for Khamzat Chimaev against Leon Edwards in the main event. However, the match ended in a no-contest due to an unintended eye poke.
Three months later after recovering from the injury he stepped into the ring with Demian Maia and outworked the former two-division championship contender. According to UFC, he extended his unbeaten record to six fights following that fight.
In December, he defeated Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, employing his high-pressure strategy to nullify the brilliant attacker.
And now, a little under four months later, he’s stepping in with Luque. He is on a four-fight winning run after submitting Tyrell Woodley and Michael Chiesa in the first round last year.
“I’m not going to dwell on my ranking,” Muhammad stated. “I’m not going to camp out and be happy and comfy.” “I had a plan and I had it established in my mind of where I wanted to go,” Muhammad said.
“I want gold – gold is the objective — and I see it; I know how to get there.”
He is confident to make his win this year as UFC champion. In the last 12 months, I’ve faced four Top 10 fighters. I’m up against the greatest of the best, and I’m eager to battle these men,” he added.
