Arely Hernandez died after an accident on Saturday, 5 March 2022.
Reportedly, a silver Chrysler 300 struck her and a 13-year-old boy in Lehi at around 7 a.m. on 4 March 2022 while traveling eastbound from Redwood Road.
The two teenagers were standing on a median at the Lehi intersection of 3600 West and 2100 North. The vehicle crashed into them, which flung them about a hundred feet away.
As per Sergeant Drew Olson, the first responders performed emergency live-saving procedures following the incident. Then, a medical helicopter came to the scene and took Arely to a hospital, but she later died.
Likewise, an ambulance took the boy, and he remains hospitalized. He suffered from internal injuries and several lower extremity injuries – the doctors expect his recovery.
Lehi police are currently investigating the driver. According to the sergeant, the investigators think impairment was one of the factors causing the crash.
Following Arely’s death, her family paid their tribute on social media. Likewise, Ethan Vastbinder set up a GoFundMe to cover the transportation costs to bring her dead body to her home in Fresno, California. So far, 114 people have donated a sum of over $8 thousand.
As for the funeral, her family is yet to announce anything on the subject, including the date and venue.
