Who is Ann Dusenberry?

Ann Dusenberry was born in Tucson, Arizona USA, on 13 September 1952 – her zodiac sign is Virgo and she holds American nationality. Ann is an actress, who is perhaps still best known for having portrayed Amory, one of the lead characters in the crime mystery movie “Stonestreet: Who Killed the Centerfold Model?” in 1977, which also starred Barbara Eden, Joseph Mascolo and Joan Hacket, and is about a private detective who disguises herself as a porno actress to find the missing daughter of a millionaire businessman.

What happened to her and where is she now?

Ann retired from acting in 2012 and has since been leading an apparently relaxed life with her husband and their two children in Santa Barbara, California.

Early life and education

Ann was raised an only child in Tucson by her father who was a mailman, and her mother who was a housewife – she spent the early years of her life watching movies and TV series with her mother, and thus became interested in acting.

Ann attended a high school in Tucson at which she was a member of the drama club, and appeared in nearly all the plays performed there – she was interested in studying too, and was one of the best students at the school. Upon matriculation in 1970, Ann enrolled at the University of Arizona to study theater arts, then after two years switched to Occidental College, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1974 – she later continued her education and eventually obtained her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Fine Therapy.

Roles in movies

Ann has appeared in around 50 movies and TV series, and we are about to mention some of her most notable performances in this article.

She gained recognition in 1975 when she played the Barmaid in the action crime drama “White Line Fever”, which was written and directed by Jonathan Kaplan, and starred Jan-Michael Vincent, Kay Lenz and Slim Pickens – the story follows a young man who, after becoming a truck driver, begins fighting corruption in the trucking industry. The year 1977 saw her portray Weezie Sumner in the horror “The Possessed”, starring James Farentino and Joan Hackett, and which is about a priest who comes back from the dead to fight Satanic forces.

Three of her next roles were in the sports comedy drama “Goodbye, Franklin High”, the critically acclaimed thriller “Jaws 2” and the mini-series “Little Women” all in 1978.

The year 1980 saw her portray Stevie in the romantic drama “Heart Beat”, written and directed by John Byrum and closely based on the autobiographical book written by Carolyn Cassady. In the following year, Ann played Jeannie in the musical drama “Elvis and the Beauty Queen”, as well as Valerie Duran in the neo-noir thriller “Cutter’s Way”. She played one of the lead characters Dominique Corsaire in the comedy “National Lampoon’s Movie Madness” in 1982, and in 1985 portrayed Melinda in the sex comedy “Basic Training”.

Three of her final roles in movies before retiring from acting were in the drama “The Men’s Club” in 1986, the romantic drama “Rich Girl” in 1991, and the comedy “Play Nice” in 1992.Two of Ann’s most notable roles in stage plays were in the metath

trical three-act play “Our Town” in 1998, written by Thornton Wilder who won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his work, and in the Michael Frayn’s play “Noises Off” in 2014.

Roles in TV series

Ann’s first notable performance in a TV series was in the historical series “Captains and the Kings” in 1976, closely based on the same-title novel written by Taylor Caldwell, and which follows Joseph Francis Xavier Arman, an Irish immigrant as he becomes rich and powerful in the US.

She went on to appear in several series, such as the police drama “McCloud” in 1976, the comedy drama “Eight Is Enough” in 1978, and the science fiction adventure “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” in 1979. She gained recognition in 1982 when she played the supporting character Katrina Tremaine in the critically acclaimed crime drama “Magnum, P. I.”, which starred Tom Selleck in the role of Thomas Magnum, a private investigator working in Oahu, Hawaii. The same year saw Ann play Maggie Nolan in the medical drama “Trapper John, M. D.”, then the following year she guest starred in three series: the drama “The Family Tree”, the crime drama “Remington Steele”, and the detective series “Simon & Simon”.

She was praised for her portrayal of Carol Selby in the crime drama “Murder, She Wrote” in 1987, which starred Angela Lansbury, William Windom and Ron Masak, and which is about Jessica Fletcher, a writer and amateur sleuth, who is also trying to solve crimes.

Three of Ann’s last roles in TV series were in the sitcom “Life with Lucy” in 1986, another sitcom “Designing Woman” in 1980, and the mystery legal drama “Matlock” in 1991.

Love life and relationships

Ann exchanged vows with her other half, Brad Fiedel, an American composer of scores for movies and TV series, not long after she ventured into the film industry – they have kept the exact date of their wedding a secret, but sometime in her late 20s, Ann gave birth to their first daughter Alexandra, while their second daughter Zoe followed several years later.

Ann’s husband Brad is perhaps best known for having worked on such as the award-winning science fiction movie “The Terminator” in 1984, the comedy horror “The Midnight Hour” in 1985 and the biographical historical drama “Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny” – he retired in 1996.

Ann hasn’t talked about any other men she might have been with before meeting Brad, so as of September 2020 she is married and has two daughters.

Hobbies and other interests

Ann’s main hobby since the launch of her acting career to this day has been travelling, and she has been to nearly all the US states for both work and pleasure, while she has also been to many European countries, vacationing in cities such as Paris in France, London in England, and Venice in Italy.

She is a lover of animals, and has had many pet cats – today she has two pet cats and a dog.

Ann likes to work in her garden and prefers to stay at her home in the countryside where she can have privacy and enjoy the nature.

Ann has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Matt Damon, Tom Hanks and Anne Hathaway, while some of her favorite movies are “Catch Me If You Can”, “Sleepless in Seattle” and “One Day”.
