Abbie Eaton was back for the 2022 season. But, she had an accident in October 2021.

Did Abbie Eaton Have An Accident?- Updates On Her Injury
The journey to recovery was not easy for Abbie Eaton. She had an incident during a W Series race at the Circuit of the Americas in October 2021 in Austin.
She was involved in a horrific accident as she crossed one of the circuit’s infamous sausage kerbs, leaving her with a broken back. It was a severe injury that she had to go through basic rehabilitation and had to take a break from racing.
Thus, she moved in with her parents, who looked after her nonstop. At that time, it hurt too much for her to sit up long enough to eat. The consultant informed her that she would need to wear both a neck and back brace, which she admitted made her cry, as per BBC.
However, she gave her all once she was permitted to begin the slow road to recovery. She could not wait to get back in her car and race. She performed bodyweight workouts while wearing the brace and was only allowed to use a kilo at a time.
She gradually adapted to physio, which was the next major obstacle because she had to do it without the brace. Besides, she also needed to build her confidence and hope that the discomfort she was experiencing was beneficial and not causing further harm.
