DeVonn Francis, a queer, first-generation Jamaican-American culinary artist, established a creative studio Yardy in 2017 to explore his heritage and culture and redefine the importance of food and culture.

DeVonn once mentioned on his Twitter that if his partner ever said plantain in front of his parents or future child, then that would mean the relationship is over.
